Off-yellow-body faïence, slip cast into a vertical ribbed form; brick red, olive green and blue decoration painted painted on off-grey glaze – Japan pattern of plants and a duck pond.

H: 39.3 cm

Markings: Factory mark (a vase) on base in smoky blue, “JT” ligature, “Delft”, below it J. U. 124 and a triangle on bottom

Purchased with two other pieces by the same producer at the Exposition Universelle of 1900 in Paris.

The overall form, reeded body, and colour all harken back to typical Delft faïence from the early eighteenth century.
